Classes

Our March-April class list is now posted on our website with pictures, and samples can be seen in person at the store. We have added 6 exciting new classes this time!

Class Registration

We do require payment to reserve your place in a class; many of them do fill up quickly so sign up early to ensure your spot! You can sign up for classes either at the store or over the phone. You will receive 10% off all materials the day of the class, excluding PMC and artisan beads.

March’s FREE Class

This is an exciting series at Artful Beads! For a small required kit fee, instruction for these classes is free! Kits will range in price from $12.00 - $18.00. Free classes will be held the third Thursday of every month. There will be 2 sessions each month; 10:30am – 12:00pm, and 5:30pm – 7:00pm. We do require payment to reserve your place in a class. You can sign up for classes either at the store or over the phone. You will receive 5% off all materials the day of the class excluding the required kit, PMC, and artisan beads.

March’s Free Class project is our “Queen of the Nile” collar. Don’t let the simple lines of this piece fool you; when worn, this piece is stunning! Plus, the techniques you will learn with this project are extremely versatile and have many potential applications.

March’s Free Class sessions will be held on Thursday, March 18^th, and the kit fee for March’s class is $18.

We do maintain waiting lists after the classes fill up; if you’re interested in adding your name to the list just give us a call at the store!

Free Class Registration Procedures

Class projects will be announced on the first day of the month. In addition, registration for the free class will also open on the first day of the month. In order to maintain the spirit in which the concept of the free class is intended, we are unable to add additional sessions.

March’s Highlighted Class: Woven Dangle Necklace

A new spin on an old favorite!! In this class you will learn to make a necklace that simply dances when you wear it!! A collaboration of metal, Czech glass beads, and seed beads this necklace sparkles with detail and luster. You can also make this design into a bracelet that moves and jingles on your wrist! Cost of the class is $45 plus materials. Previous wire wrapping skills required.

The Bounty from Tucson is here!

Once again, Barbara and Laina had an extremely successful trip to Tucson. Over the course of 3 days, they visited as many shows as possible, searching for truly unique and unusual pieces. As you can see, they were extremely successful! Since a pictures is worth a thousand words, feast your eyes! Below are just some of the highlights from this year’s trip:

New Czech glass beads! Just for starters, we've got new 9mm oblates, new 4mm and 6mm faceted rounds, and gorgeous new shapes that are made using vintage molds!

Ammonite Pendants and Pairs! We have a fabulous new selection of pendants, and the pairs are perfect for creating beaded bezels around.

Vintage German Glass Buttons! Dating back to the 1950s, these buttons are the real deal! We have a wide variety of styles, colors, and sizes - perfect for all sorts of projects!

Fresh new copper components! We've got some spectacular new pieces from our favorite copper artists, including some very sweet enameled copper flowers that are ideal for stacking...just in time for Spring!

Our favorite porcelain artist has some gorgeous new styles, and spectacular new glazes and combinations. These one-of-a-kind pieces are going fast!

We've replenished our supply of large-holed ceramic beads. The artist we work with has developed some wonderful new textures and glaze patterns. These beads are so fun for chunky, whimsical projects!

Last but not least, we have added several new fabulous chains to our selection. These new chains come in a variety of colors, materials, and styles.

Tip of the Month - Making Mistakes

Making mistakes is something we all try to avoid. However, making mistakes in beading isn't necessarily a bad thing! When you make a mistake, it actually helps to reinforce the correct way to do something. And, quite often, making a mistake may lead you down a path you otherwise never would have found. So don't worry when you make mistakes; instead, turn the situation around to your advantage!
